Arizona Wedding Photographer
Casey and Chris
I have a confession; I am obsessed with Arizona! There are so many beautiful locations to shoot at, and you get a totally different look with each one. Sometimes wedding photographers only specialize in one kind of location style. That's not me; I LOVE them all! I will shoot in the desert, city, and mountains! Basically anywhere!
For this engagement shoot, we decided to drive up north to Flagstaff. I was so excited when Casey told me she wanted mountain views. The location was beautiful. There was still snow on the ground, but we made it work! Chris and Casey were so much fun to hang out with, and I couldn't stop laughing. I'm pretty sure my cheeks hurt after our session. They were bubbly and so in love! Read their incredible story down below. It's a great one!
The Engagement story.
We met in early 2013 in a national charity Facebook group that we were both part of. I was living in San Diego at the time, and Chris was living in Kentucky. We became fast friends and talked pretty much every day. In mid-2014 I lost my great grandma, who I was taking care of pretty much full time. Chris was really a rock for me, and our relationship grew into something more than I think either of us thought it would. He had moved back home to Arizona in early 2014, and I visited him for his birthday in October of that year, and 5 days later I finally worked up the courage to ask him to be my boyfriend.
We were in a long distance relationship for the first two months of our relationship, and after that, he asked me to move to Arizona. What they say is true, love really does make you do crazy things, like move to the desert after you've spent all your life living by the beach! But it's been the best, and easiest, decision I've ever made!
Fast forward 4 years to November 2018, and he surprised me by taking me ring shopping "just to go look". Little did I know, he ended up buying the ring that I had picked out that day! I also bought the ring that he had picked out for himself a little while later because I had hoped that I would need it soon.
Just after Christmas I flew home to California and drove up to the Diamond District in LA to buy my diamond. Chris had done all sorts of research on diamonds, and the trip meant a lot to me. My ring is even more special to me because I got my diamond from the same place that my mom and dad had gotten their wedding rings, my grandparents had gotten their wedding rings, and my great grandma had shopped at the same jeweler as well.
The day before he proposed, Chris called my dad and asked him for his permission to propose, and he said that was the most nervous he had been in a long time! On January 8th, he popped the question while we were at home, in our pajamas. It was a simple proposal, no frills, but that's exactly how our relationship is. We are so excited to start this next chapter of our lives together!
CONGRATULATIONS to the happy couple! I can't wait for your magical wedding day!
